Resource Program
Each building in the district has its own resource program. Staffing includes a resource teacher(s), paraprofessional(s), and related service providers. The level of service is determined by each student�s identified needs and the goals established on the individualized education plan (IEP). Resource teachers work closely with regular education teachers to coordinate the student�s educational program. Service delivery can be direct service or consultative. Services may be incorporated into the regular classroom setting or may be delivered in a small group or individual setting.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy focuses on optimizing a child�s physical skills in the area of movement and stability.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy addresses skills in the area of fine motor skill development, processing and organizing sensory information and in self-help skills.

Adaptive Physical Education
Adaptive Physical Education provides opportunities for children to engage in structured physical activities that stimulate the development of motor

Kearney Public schools provides a continuum of special education services and programs for children with special needs who reside in the Kearney School District at no cost to families. Children Birth through 2

Referrals can be made to Services Coordination at 308-865-7131(office located at Good Samaritan Hospital) or the Office of Special Education at 308-698-8017. The Services Coordinator then works with the educational team to conduct any appropriate assessments to determine eligibility.
