The focus of the guidance and
counseling program in Kearney Public Schools is to empower all students
to reach their maximum potential in the areas of academic, career, and
personal and social development.
At the elementary level, developmental guidance lessons are
presented in the classroom on a regular basis. At the middle level,
many of the developmental guidance activities are incorporated into the
Quality Time period. At the high school level, guidance activities
focus on career exploration and post secondary preparation.
School guidance counselors also provide individual and group
counseling for students as well as support a variety of other student
related activities in each building.
